Welcome to ASIANALYSIS XVI 2023!
Asian Conference on Analytical Sciences (ASIANALYSIS) was founded on the occasion of the IUPAC International Congress on Analytical Sciences, ICAS '91, which was held in Chiba, Japan, in August, 1991. ASIANALYSIS is under the advisory of a group of 19 International Advisory Board members consisting of eminent and distinctive scientists from Asia and Oceania. The aim of the organization is to provide a broad forum for Asian analytical chemists to exchange and share new advances and information covering the wide range of analytical sciences. It is also intended to establish intimate cooperation and friendship among Asian analytical chemistry communities through the discussion of topics of mutual interest.
After its first conference in Chiba (Japan) in 1991, it was held every other year: 1993 in Changchun (China), 1995 in Seoul (Korea), 1997 in Fukuoka (Japan), 1999 in Xiamen (China), 2001 in Tokyo (Japan), 2003 in Hong Kong (China), 2005 in Taipei (Taiwan), 2007 in Jeju (Korea), 2009 in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), 2011 in Nanjing (China), 2013 in Fukuoka (Japan), 2016 in Chiang Mai (Thailand), 2018 in Jakarta (Indonesia) and 2021 in Taipei (Taiwan). Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM) in collaboration with Jabatan Kimia Malaysia, Forensic Science Society of Malaysia and Persatuan Makmal Akreditasi Malaysia are jointly organising ASIANALYSIS XVI 2023 from 9-12 October 2023 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The theme "Advancing Analytical Sciences for Sustainable Development" means that the Conference will focus on advancing analytical sciences for meeting the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030.

ASIANALYSIS XVI 2023 - Symposium on Forensic Science
The Symposium on Forensic Science (SFS) 2023 is organized by IKM in collaboration with the Forensic Science Society of Malaysia (FSSM) in conjunction with ASIANALYSIS XVI 2023. We are indeed honoured and delighted to host the event physically, after the long period of COVID-19 pandemic. SFS 2023 provides a platform for professionals, practitioners, researchers, and academicians from the forensic science community to exchange their insights, views and experiences on the current and future developments for the advancement of forensic science services, research and innovation, as well as forensic education. SFS 2023 with the theme "Advancing Forensic Sciences" includes workshops organised by our industrial partner, and presentations from invited speakers, oral and poster presenters from various agencies and universities. We know the interdisciplinary nature of forensic science and the societal importance of forensic science. This symposium will certainly provide opportunities for deeper understanding and better communication among us. Please do not miss the opportunities to exchange information and contact details. We all know that networking is important to us, and therefore FSSM will continue to act as a facilitator to strengthen linkages among the key forensic science stakeholders. FSSM remains the platform for us to learn and establish inter-disciplinary collaborations, particularly in the post COVID future.Scientific Sessions

ASIANALYSIS XVI 2023 - Symposium on Halal Testing and Authenticity
The increasing demand for halal testing and authenticity, locally and globally, is in line with the tremendous expansion of the global halal market. By 2030, it is estimated that the global halal market will reach US$7.7 trillion in value while the domestic market is estimated to reach US$113.2 billion. In 2020, the halal cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries were valued at US$39 billion and US$97 billion respectively, while the global halal food industry was worth US$1.6 trillion. It is expected to increase to US$2.1 trillion by 2030. Halal testing is no longer viewed solely as a religious obligation. The halal standards and principles have grown favourable worldwide due to its quality assurance and its compulsion for Toyyiban that confers the principle of hygiene, nutritive and ethical consumerism which benefit every individual equally regardless of religion. Modern, reliable, sensitive, rapid and robust techniques which include RT PCR, LCMS-MS, GC-FID, ELISA, HPLC and FTIR are used in halal testing to ensure the accuracy of the results obtained. The Symposium on Halal Testing and Authenticity will highlight the latest technology, advancement and innovations in halal testing.Scientific Sessions
